Reviews
Good food, good service and the atmosphere was lively. The only criticism is that the portions on some of the items were small. Still, you're getting north end quality for half the price.
The wine list is on the smaller side but a steal! Eg A bottle of Belle Glos Pinot is $48(TW sells for $50), a Jordan Cab from Sonoma for $75(TW $60).
Definitely a recommendation, 4.5 stars.
My wife just spent $50 on their “special” on Monday and Tuesday nights which is pasta with meatballs( half sheet pan of over cooked pasta & 4 medium size meatballs ) and “salad” ( just a half sheet pan of mixed greens( no onion , tomato or cucumber) just warm mixed greens and small thing of house salad dressing( 2 ounce). If they said that you get 1lb of over cooked pasta with barely and sauce and 4 small-medium meatballs and warm lettuce we would have spent $50 somewhere else! Oh I forgot.. small piece of garlic bread too. Says feeds 4-5…. Sure I guess if you like 1 cup of over cooked dry pasta and bowl of lettuce and not even enough meatball for 2 people nevemind 5 ! Will not be going here anymore!!!
Everything was super expensive & the quality of the food was terrible! I had chicken parm & the chicken was so rubbery that it was inedible! My wife had Pasta Alfredo & I thought that meal was a meal that you couldn't screw up, unfortunately I was wrong & it was horrible also. Finally, they upcharged us for getting a specific type of pasta!!! $8 extra which is insane! It's safe to say that we won't ever be going back.....
We made reservations for my wife's birthday. Glad we did, it was busier than I expected. It was VERY LOUD inside. Lots of kids and loud tables. Not what we were expecting at all.
Open Table said that the dress code was "business casual", and it was much more on the casual side. Tshirts, baseball hats and shorts are all acceptable. Even some of the servers wore jeans.
Food was amazing. I got the penne with chicken and broccoli. The sauce could have been a little thicker, but tastes great.
Service was not as good anymore. The same to the food.
Decided to try the Melrose location (we usually go to the north end and sometimes the south end location). Had reservations on Sunday at 5pm. Came in and the place was packed, even the bar. Highly recommend making reservations if you plan to eat earlier. By 7pm there were few empty tables and no wait.
There is street parking in front and they have a big parking lot in the back. This is a plus compared to their other locations
Service was attentive and friendly.
Food was good but not the same quality as the north end location. But still delicious and plentiful. We got the large calamari, clams linguini and 2 Fra Diavolo FruittiDiMare linguini (very generous with the seafood compared to other places). Seafood were all very fresh.
Food was great and so were the drinks, got the large seafood platter for 2 and it was a TON of food. The service was very friendly too, giving space when needed and not feeling rushed.
Giacomo has a nice ambience since the lights and colors are quite soft and dark at the same time. It is a good place for a date. Food is mostly ok, but I really like my dish, the ravioli filled with sausage and a few other things. The brocheta was good. I want to try it another time to improve my review.
